Teacher Appreciation Week May 15-19!

The PTA has planned a week of activities to honor the teachers and staff at Diamond Middle School and we urge parents and students to get involved.  Let’s show the entire staff just how much we appreciate the hard work and dedication they devote to our kids.  Here is how you can contribute:

Write notes of appreciation to teachers and staff members, and encourage your kids to write “thank you” notes, too!

Donate gift cards in small denominations ($5-10) which will be given out to teachers and staff at the annual Teacher Appreciation lunch.  Gift cards to stores such as Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Target, Barnes & Noble, etc. can be brought to the front office on Monday, May 15 and Tuesday, May 16.

Donate vases and flowers that will be used to compile bouquets for teachers and staff.  Please send flowers to school with your students on Friday, May 19. DUE TO A LIFE THREATENING ALLERGY TO LILIES, PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE LILIES IN FLOWERS THAT ARE BROUGHT TO SCHOOL. You can send vases, mason jars, drinking glasses, etc. to school anytime during the week of May 15-19.  PTA volunteers will use the containers and the flowers to create bouquets to send home with teachers.

Grade 6 parents will have the opportunity to sign up to bring hot entrees, bagels, yogurts, pastries and other breakfast treats for the staff breakfast on Tuesday, May 16. Sign up here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d4aa9a82fa5f94-appreciation

Grade 8 parents can provide salads, desserts, beverages, etc. for the Teacher Appreciation Lunch on Thursday, May 18.  We will have entrees catered by Blue Ribbon BBQ.  Sign up here: http://signup.com/go/gJWKkE

(Grade 7 parents, don’t worry.  You will have the opportunity to help out with the Eighth Grade Graduation celebration in June.  So, you will have an opportunity to contribute to the Diamond community, too!)

Thanks in advance for your help in making Teacher Appreciation Week a great success at Diamond Middle School!
