Are you wanting a way for your kids to get around town - to Hayden, the Community Center, the Library, to friends houses, to music lessons, LexMedia, sporting events, the mall, and other places on their own?
Riding Lexpress is a fabulous, local alternative that we are fortunate to have in Lexington! It's an easy, safe system to navigate and it is almost impossible to get lost on.
Lexpress is hosting TWO events this month, which offer a great chance to get familiar with this transit system.
· Free Friday, September 22 - Free rides all day long in honor of World Car Free Day
· Free Special Saturday Service, September 23 - This is a great weekend opportunity to try Lexpress as a family! Buses will operate on their usual routes, but between the hours of 9:30AM-3:30PM. This is a great chance to practice getting to and from a variety of places around town! Come test out multiple routes! Also a great chance to practice putting a bike on and off the bike rack on the buses. Lexpress normally operates only Monday-Friday, so come check it out on this Special Saturday Service Day!
General Lexpress Information:
Monday through Friday, our community bus service, Lexpress, is available wherever you want to go in the Lexpress service area - just hop on and off. Unlike the MBTA, there are no designated stops. Instead, board by standing on the side of the road the bus is traveling and just wave down the bus. There are bike racks on all buses, to you can take your bike, too!
