Lunchtime Compost And Recycling Volunteers
- When: Wednesdays, from September 12, 10:45am - 12:15pm
- Where: Diamond Cafeteria
A Great New Parent Volunteer Opportunity! This year Diamond students will be composting and recycling their lunch waste one day a week with a little help from YOU!
We have taken the cue from Clarke Middle School (who is now composting and recycling every school lunch day) and are starting a lunchtime compost and recycle day on Wednesdays only. We started with a successful pilot in June 2018 and would like to continue the program into the new school year. All the elementary feeder schools compost and recycle at lunch, so we are striving to keep the student awareness and knowledge about how we should manage our waste at lunchtime.
The 90 minute shifts are on Wednesdays from 10:45am - 12:15pm starting September 12. Volunteers help the custodians set-up the recycling stations and work with the student volunteers to educate the students about where to place their waste items. Three parent volunteers each Wednesday would be ideal.
Please contact the Diamond Green Team at email@example.com with questions and your availability - once every one/two/four week(s). Thank you for considering this opportunity to connect with the vibrant Diamond School community (including your child) and help our students to become environmentally responsible citizens!
